Your day on the lake
Not sure what a guided fishing trip looks like? Here's the breakdown so you know exactly what to expect from start to finish.
Before the trip
Meet Tony at the launch point. He'll have the boat loaded, electronics on, and tackle rigged. Quick rundown of the plan, safety, and what the lake is doing that day.
On the water
Tony works through productive spots based on season, water temp, and conditions. Expect hands-on coaching: casting angles, bait presentation, reading your electronics.
What's included
All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and electronics. Full-day trips include lunch. You just need your fishing license, sunscreen, and water.
Weather and cancellation
Tony monitors conditions closely. If the weather makes it unsafe, trips are rescheduled at no charge. Light rain? The bass love it.
When to fish Shasta Lake
Shasta Lake fishes well year-round. Each season brings different patterns, species focus, and techniques.
Dec to Feb
Spotted bassWinter
Fish slow and deep. Spotted bass stack on steep bluffs and main-lake points. Finesse techniques shine in cold, clear water.
Mar to May
Largemouth bassSpring
Pre-spawn and spawn. Largemouth move shallow into coves and flats. Topwater bites start heating up as water temps climb past 60.
Jun to Aug
Bass and troutSummer
Early mornings and late evenings are prime. Bass feed aggressively on shad schools. Trout fishing picks up near the dam.
Sep to Nov
Trophy bassFall
The best window for big fish. Bass feed hard before winter, following baitfish into the arms. Consistent action all day.
